Okurayama Memorial Hall and Center for Spiritual Research

Built in 1937 as the Center for Spiritual Research by the maverick businessman Okura, the building was given to the City of Yokohama in 1981. Designated as a Cultural Heritage in 1991, the City of Yokohama restored the building which still houses the research institute and library in one wing. The rooms in the other wing as well as the performance hall and meditation room, now a gallery, are public spaces open to use by the citizens of Yokohama.
